Volume Rendering on Vector Machines
A particle-based volume rendering (PBVR) program was modified to accommodate vector machines towards in-situ visualization. PBVR is an effective method for the visualization of unstructured data. The algorithm was first modified to improve its performance on vector machines, after which its performance evaluation was carried out on the Earth Simulator. It is concluded that PBVR is a good candidate for in-situ visualization on vector machines.
